Attention Bushido Parents

Thank you for all you do for your children and for supporting our school! We know you probably sometimes hear, “I don’t want to go to class today”, or “I’m bored! I want to quit!” We need your help in making sure your child sees their next goal through, whether it’s their next tip, next belt, black belt or 2nd degree black belt. Pre-framing your child on class day by reminding them in the morning that we are going to karate today can certainly help. We never want to re-enforce the “I’m quitting because it’s challenging”, mentality. A school owner friend of mine often asks the parents in his school, “Has John/Jane wanted to quit yet?” If the answer is “Oh no! They are loving karate!” , his pat answer is always, “Well they will, and when they do, please bring them to one of our staff members!” It’s not the end of the world when a kid’s enthusiasm begins to wane. After 40 years in the martial arts business, we’ve seen most everything, and we are very good at re-motivating our students. Remember, private lessons (as needed) are part of your program and are a great way for one of our instructors to find out how to get your child excited about training again. If anyone has any questions, please email me personally at bushido96@aol.com.

Thank you,

Sensei Taylor
