Mrs. Chisum is involved with a
project called “Operation Write Home”.
This is a program that encourages soldiers to write home to
their loved ones by supplying them with homemade greeting cards. While Mrs.
Chisum is busy making cards to send, she needs YOU to write letters to soldiers
who receive little or no mail from home.
You can send drawings, letters thanking them for their
service, tell them about yourself! I’m sure they would love to hear from you.
Bring your letters to the office and she will make sure they get to the
soldiers. She also has pre-printed coloring pages and notes for you, just ask
in the office! As glitter is visible with night vision, PLEASE DO NOT USE AND
GLITTER OR ANYTHING SHINY THAT WILL RUB OFF!
Parents, if you would like to be involved in making cards
for the soldiers to use, check out their website at www.operationhome.org They have tons of card making ideas and
instructions for shipping your cards.
This is a great program and gives us an opportunity to say
“Thank You” to our soldiers.
This will also be a contest! Much like the “Souper Bowl”,
each belt rank will compete to see who can bring in the most mail! The prize
will be a fun game/pizza night at the dojo!
