Attention Orange Belts
As an orange belt, please be aware that one of the requirements to be
able to test for your blue belt is that you have to be sparring in
class. Thus, you need safety gear. Minimum sparring equipment consists
of head, hand and foot gear along with a mouthpiece. Shin guards are
also highly recommended. One of the benefits of joining the Black Belt
Club is that you receive all of this safety equipment along with much,
much more in your Black Belt Club package. If you have received an
invitation to join the Black Belt Club, but you have not made an
appointment to discuss joining with Mr. Taylor yet, please simply
contact the school office. It is at least worth talking about. We look
forward to hearing from you.
New Black Belt Club Benefit
Chris and Sherry Sale, travel specialists, are able to assist the
Bushido School of Karate’s Black Belt Club members, along with their
friends and family, with as much input and recommendations or as little
assistance as they would like in planning their vacation travel.
Regardless of the amount of assistance that they want in planning their
vacation, Chris and Sherry will be able to help them save money and/or
get them value added amenities for use on almost all of their Resort and
Cruise Vacations, including Walt Disney World, over the “discounted”
online vacation/cruise websites or the Company websites. In order to
receive these savings and/or value added amenities, BBC members MUST
contact Chris or Sherry Sale at either (615) 295-8388, (888) 394-4178
ext 2, or send them an email at s.sale@cruiseone.com

Special Kid’s Race - Thank You
Thank
you so much to everyone from the karate school - students and family
members - who participated in or donated to the Special Kids race.
Thanks to your generosity we exceeded our goal and raised $665.25!! All
of that amount will go to the children at Special Kids! Also, thanks
so much to the people who signed up to race. Whether you were able to
run or not, your registration fee goes directly to Special Kids!! We
had 14 people sign up to run for BSK Team 2016. I would especially like
to thank Jeff Nelson for all his help at our booth. Jeff has such a
heart for kids and it really shows when he is talking to the kids and
parents about our programs offered here at BSK. Also, I would like to
thank Sophia Williams for running the race in the morning and then
heading to Columbia to participate in the Wado-Ryu tournament. She not
only competed in kata and sparring after running over 3 miles but won
1st place in both! I can't thank everyone enough for your help, your
participation and your very generous donations. Until next year!!!

Summer Pizza Tickets
Starting June 1st, every time a Junior or Kinder Karate student attends
class they will receive a ticket. This will go on until the end of
July. You will need to save your tickets. Lost tickets will not be
replaced. If you attend class an average of twice per week, then by the
end of July you should have 16 or more tickets. Once you have at least
16 tickets, you may come sign up for a pizza party, which will be held
in the Fall. This party is free and is intended to be a fun reward for
keeping up your attendance during the Summer months. Again, lost tickets
will not be replaced, it is your responsibility to keep track of them.
It is also not fair to others for anyone to give tickets to another
student, or to use tickets from a previous year.
*You
must be an enrolled student in order to attend the pizza party in the
Fall. This means if you are a Summer Program Student, and you do not
